Thanks for stopping by...

TekMate is a small Houston, Texas company that was started in 1986 by Joe & Betty Lincoln. Our mission has always been to help folks enter the information age with less trepidation and fewer worries. Joe began programming computers in 1978 and continues to write PC computer software to solve many types of problems in health care, business, recreational activities and scientific pursuits. Betty programs telephone systems and trains people to use their Lucent (AT&T), Avaya and Expanets business telephone systems, which often can be difficult to do considering the myriad of new features routinely being added to digital phone systems. We are a hands-on company and pride ourselves in maintaining a one-to-one relationship with our clients and customers.

Click Me - Send Betty E-MailBetty has over 36 years of experience with Lucent Technologies business telephone systems. She retired from AT&T in 1994 but currently contracts to Lucent, Avaya, Expanets, Southwestern Bell, and over 15 other Houston area communications companies teaching end-users how to program and use their new telephone systems. She also programs systems both remotely as well as on premise for many hundreds of large and small businesses throughout Texas. She has taught thousands of individuals and was privileged to teach President George Bush (#41) when he moved into his new offices in Houston. Betty is an expert in using the Lucent/Avaya product line, Audix Voice Mail, Magix and many other systems (see list below). She has won many awards for her down-to-earth speaking style and has received countless letters of appreciation from companies that she has assisted. A notable achievement is that throughout her entire 34 year career with AT&T, she never missed a single day of work due to illness or any other personal need. In short, she never missed a day of work.

Betty is an authorized trainer for Lucent Technologies, Avaya and Exp@nets

Click Me - Send Joe E-MailJoe writes software and beginning in 1985 he started creating some Microsoft Flight Simulator® add-on products such as FS-Pro, SeePlus, Airport & Facility Directory and he collaborated in a partnership with Laemming Wheeler to create Scenery Enhancement Editor, Real Weather Pilot and FS-WOW!. Their team created many flyable 3-D airplane collections where the looks were perfect and the flight dynamics and characteristics were very realistic. All of these software products have been published (Mallard and Apollo) and sold throughout the world. Chances are, if you were a "PC Pilot" and hobbyist during the 1980s and 1990s you have used one or more of Joe's programs. Over the years many tens of thousands of virtual pilots have used his software to enhance their PC flying experience and several of his original concepts are now incorporated into Microsoft's latest Flight Simulator® software. Another of his software developments is Appointment Master, a full-featured appointment scheduling system with accompanying patient data base support. Dozens of dentists and orthodontists use this program to help manage their daily practices. Joe was an innovator in developing the early touch-tone telco-computer interface software that yielded such things today as talking yellow-pages, banking and pharmacy transactions and even travel dialogs. If you or your company has a need for custom Windows® software or HTML, FLASH® and JAVA® applications for the web, call Joe and let's talk about your ideas.

For the past 35-years, I have also written a large collection of essays (JOE'S RAMBLINGS) and you are free to read them if so inclined. Just click here. They are compiled into Adobe PDF format and can be printed or saved on your computer. It's about 471 pages. Some blabbering is serious, some funny and some, just plain dumb. I essentially wrote them for my grandchildren so they might know something about my "thought" genes flowing in their little bodies long after I croak. I included a college thesis that I wrote in 1963 concerning how our brain stores memories and just this year (2008) I listened to a lecture by a learned neurophysiologist who seems to concur with my hypothesis I made so many years ago. It seems as if technology may have caught up with one of my crazy ideas. I don't say this with a "swelled head" but with modesty and a whole lot of humility. I cover some of my religious beliefs, sociopolitical challenges I currently see and some that I have seen in the past, pseudo-scientific things and even some super natural beliefs.

It is not a short read but rather a large compendium of my thought processes and I am quick to self deprecation. I include in the opening page a statement that admits I am a dummy and that my writings are not scholarly so please do not hold me up to being any type of intellectual. I actually had printed up fifteen copies for my family and a few close friends but at $50.00 each I couldn't afford any more. At least they are free right here and there is a huge reference section at the end in case something grabs your attention. I used to be very interested in music and wrote and sang a few songs. I taught myself to play the guitar and piano and in W.B. Ray High School (during the 1950's) I played in a group named the Majestics. Click here to hear a few of my own creations as well as a very few of my favorite oldies.
